# Gemini CLI

> Add the Metatron docs-search MCP to Gemini CLI over Streamable HTTP.

**Syntax verified** against the Gemini CLI MCP documentation (`geminicli.com/docs/tools/mcp-server/`, retrieved 2026-10-10). **End-to-end connection: NOT TESTED** against the live site.

## Add the server

```bash theme={null}
gemini mcp add --transport http metatron-docs https://<DOCS_DOMAIN>/mcp
```

The `--transport http` flag selects Streamable HTTP, which is the transport the docs-search MCP uses.

## Verify

Start Gemini CLI and check that `metatron-docs` appears among the configured MCP servers. Then ask a question this documentation answers.

## Troubleshooting

* **Wrong transport:** if the command was entered without `--transport http`, remove the entry and add it again with the flag.
* **Connection fails:** confirm the live domain and the `/mcp` path.

## Remove

Remove the `metatron-docs` entry using the CLI's MCP management commands, or edit the `mcpServers` object in `settings.json`.
